45th Class Reunion - a Huge Success!

The reunion has come and gone. What a great weekend! Renewing friendships, seeing those we've seen at previous reunions and some that we haven't seen since high school. Fantastic!! I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. See you at the 50th.

What a super weekend. We were thrilled with the response and attendance and sad to have it end. Once again, thank you for the contributions to the reunion fund and for all the offers of help. To each of you who were able to make it to the 45th reunion, thank you for making the reunion a huge success. To our classmates who were unable to come this time, you were truly missed.

On a personal note, words cannot express my thanks for the unexpected and sincerely appreciated gifts. Your generosity overwhelms me.

We are already talking about plans for the 50th reunion in 2014, so mark your calendar!

  How to use our email links on the Melbourne/Eau Gallie Reunion Site

Having trouble using our email links? Here is how they work.

Several people have had trouble using our email links on the web site. If you click on the link it should open up an email window from your email program with the email address already in the send to blank. If for some reason this does not work for you, you can cut and paste the email address. Right click on the link and choose Copy Email Address from the pop-up. Then click on the blank you want to paste it to. You can use CTRL-V to paste. I hope this helps. I use javascript for the email so the webcrawlers can't harvest our email addresses for SPAM.

If we don't have your email address please send us an update with it. As you can see from looking at the Classmates Lists we have snail mail addresses for many more people than we have email addresses for. We would like to get more email addresses because this will be our main means of communications between reunions. As you know the price of stamps was just increased so it is very expensive to send out a mailing to our classmates. So please update us with your email address. So check the Classmates List pages for your school and if you don't have the email tag by your name we don't have your email address. Melbourne classmates go HERE and Eau Gallie classmates go HERE. The Radisson has reserved a block of rooms for classmates at the discounted price of $140 per night. Call the hotel directly (321) 773-9260 and mention the high school class reunion rate; they expect to be sold out for the holiday weekend so reserve early.

We will be doing a Memory Book again. If you would like to include a special memory from the past, or catch your classmates up with what you've been doing since the last reunion, please email directly to: . Deadline for submissions is June 1st.

  Reunion News

News from the Reunion Committee.

Dear Classmates:             October 22, 2008

Plans are proceeding for our 45th Reunion. The following events have been scheduled: Friday evening July 3rd, welcome cocktail party in the Ballroom at The Henegar Center, downtown Melbourne. Live entertainment by The Hit Men. Light hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine. Saturday morning, July 4th, breakfast buffet open to everyone, Tradewinds banquet room at the Radisson Suite Hotel Oceanfront.

Saturday evening, July 4th, dance/party in the Tradewinds banquet room at the Radisson. Live entertainment by The Hit Men. Heavy hors d'oeuvres, cash bar.

We will be sending out, in a later email and hopefully posting on our website, a request for information on each of you for a new Memory Book. We hope all of you will contribute information on what you've been doing, about your children and grandchildren, animals, travels, retirement if you're fortunate enough to be there, or whatever you'd like to share with classmates; so be thinking about it. We are considering having a photographer at the Saturday evening event for individual and/or group photos. It would be similar to the arrangement we had at the 20th reunion; No Purchase, No Obligation. We'd like to know how many of you would be interested (Ladies, we have plenty of time to drop those extra "10 Ibs" before stepping in front of the dreaded camera).

Arrangements have been made at the Radisson Suite Hotel Oceanfront for a special group rate of $140.00 per night. Be sure to ask for the Melbourne/Eau Gallie high school reunion rate. We'd like to know if you plan to stay at the Radisson; we may be able to add additional rooms to our block of rooms if we run out. Please email and let us know. Rooms at this rate will be limited due to the holiday weekend, so make your arrangements early. If you wish you may contact the hotel directly, at (321) 773-9260. The price of virtually everything has increased drastically since our last reunion. Without your donations we might not be able to proceed with the plans, so to each of you who have so generously contributed, WE THANK YOU!! Reunion Committee is meeting and planning the next reunion.

Dear Classmates:             October 12, 2008

Your reunion committee is very pleased to tell you that we are busy planning the 45th Class Reunion for the weekend of July 4th, 2009.

Exact event details are still being decided, however, we plan to have the traditional welcome cocktail party on Friday evening, July 3rd, at The Henegar Center on New Haven Avenue in downtown Melbourne, a brunch on Saturday morning, July 4th, followed by a gathering at the beachside Radisson Hotel Saturday evening.

We do hope to communicate in the future primarily by email, but for the benefit of those who do not have access to the internet, we are happy to use the U.S. Mail, just indicate your preference in the email. It is official. The Melbourne High School class of 1964 is now a dot com. I registered the domain name melhi64.com for the site. The Melhi64 web site can now be reached at www.melhi64.com.
